Laundry Room Remodel - Water Softener Cabinet

If you read my last post about painting the laundry room, you probably noticed the cabinet over the water softener by the red door. I did some measuring and googling and found this cabinet at Home Depot:

As we assembled it, we modified it a bit so that it could slide over the water softener.

We didn't install the back brace or backing to the cabinet and only glued in one shelf. At the time we couldn't push the cabinet all the way back because the fixed shelf was partially in the way of the water valve. We left it as is for a little while, being extremely careful when opening and closing the doors because it wasn't the sturdiest thing. I was really beginning to fall in love with the laundry room now that we had fresh paint and all of the bulky utilities hidden!
