Laundry Room Remodel - Organization & Decor Part 1

The whole point of my laundry room remodel was to make this space as usable as possible with plenty of storage options and organization not only for laundry purposes, but for the miscellaneous as well. When I set out to find decor for this room I wanted it to have a purpose. I think I did a pretty good job at organizing and decorating the space so far. There are of course other things I will add over time, like a coat rack and and drying rack on the wall opposite of the cabinets, but this room has already been transformed so much and is a lot more useful and aesthetically pleasing. Here's a few of the things I've added to this room:
Glass Dispensers for Laundry Detergent and Fabric Softener
I got this idea from Pinterest. I like the option of having my laundry detergent and softener out and easily available without showcasing the crazy colored ugly containers they come in. I got this set for a steal at Bed, Bath, & Beyond for $18. They've held up for 9 months now, hopefully they'll last because BB&B doesn't sell them anymore.

Red Glass Jar
This is a recent freebie from my mom. She asked if I had a use for it and it turns out I did. The red glass actually matches quite well with the red door and curtain in the room. I'm using it to hide my detergent measuring cup and toothpicks (for getting clogs out of the dispensers).
Mini Tension Rod
I bought a small tension rod that I hung above the laundry soap dispensers to hang small items from to dry. This will do until I add a larger dry rack on the opposite wall.

Laundry Sorter
This quad laundry sorter is a game changer! I definitely recommend buying one! It has made sorting laundry loads so much easier and quicker! Since it's just the two of us I use it to sort dark colds, light colds, dark warms, light warms. It's also a good way to evaluate how many loads of laundry you really have or need to do. I got this from Walmart for $40 at the time. It's worth every penny!

Wire baskets
I bought a ton of these awesome and cute chicken wire baskets. They come in a variety of sizes and I've used them for organization in a couple of rooms in my home. In the laundry room the two large baskets on top of the floor cabinet are used to hold extra paper towel rolls and toilet paper. I have three matching baskets on top of the wall cabinets, but they currently serve no purpose other than looking cute!

Clock
I love this retro style clock I found at Target. I purchased the minty green because that was originally a color I wanted to use as in accent in the room. It's helpful being able to see what time I put in a load and to know when to come back and check on it since I refuse to use the obnoxious buzzer on the dryer.

In the part 2 of this blog post I'll share how I simply and cheaply organized the insides of the cabinets. I'm no expert at decorating and organizing, but I'm very happy with how this room has transformed so far!!
