One thing I love about our home is the textured walls, it just adds a subtle touch. I recently found out that the texture's called orange peel. While I love it, it was a pain after doing drywall repairs to match the pattern. I couldn't match the texture on any patch larger than a quarter.

I found this product from Home Depot called Homax Wall Orange Peel Low Odor Water Based Spray texture. A mouth full, but this product is great. Similar to my second love, spray paint, you spray from a distance to achieve the look. The key is to spray sporadically and not heavily on the area that you patched. The nozzle has an adjuster to change the spray from heavy to fine as well to better match your walls. I used fine and let it dry with no extra steps and it covered my patch seamlessly. To make it blend better, let it dry for 10 minutes and then lightly go over it with a putty knife.

After the texture is dry to the touch, just paint over it! Bye bye holes left by our old blinds! It's such a simple fix that I thought would be so difficult to match originally! I highly recommend this product for anyone who has textured walls. It comes in about all textures.
